Phase 2 - Tween & Teen Smiles

LASTING CONFIDENCE

Why is Phase 2
important

Even if your child has completed Phase I, Phase II plays a critical role in perfecting their smile. While early treatment sets the groundwork by guiding jaw growth and resolving urgent issues, it’s Phase II that brings everything together. Skipping this step may result in incomplete alignment, increased risk of relapse, or the need for more corrective work in the future. Phase II ensures the bite is fully corrected, the smile is symmetrical, and the results are long-lasting.

What is Phase 2
Orthodontics

Phase II is the final stage of orthodontic treatment, typically starting between ages 11 and 14, once most or all of the adult teeth have erupted.

While Phase I focuses on early correction and jaw development, Phase II fine-tunes the alignment of the teeth and bite. The ultimate goal is to create a well-balanced, functional bite and a beautifully straight smile that will last a lifetime.

What Does
Treatment Involve?

Phase II is highly personalized and may include full braces, either metal or ceramic, applied to all the teeth to ensure precision in movement. For eligible teens seeking a more discreet option, Invisalign clear aligners are an excellent alternative that offers flexibility and comfort. In some cases, small rubber bands called elastics are used in conjunction with braces or aligners to help correct bite alignment. Once treatment is complete, a retainer is provided to maintain the new smile and keep teeth from shifting.
